TRAINEE: Exotics Cross Asset Middle Office

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product scope: Exotics Products on Equity, Rates, Credit, FX and Hybrid such as ELN, CLN, share accumulators, auto-callables and other exotics payoffs
Work closely with front office and the different support functions (MO, BO, Risk, Finance, ITEC) in order to:

  • Ensure that the modeling of products and transactions into our information system is done in an accurate and timely manner
  • Make sure proper control framework is in place to guarantee the exhaustiveness and quality of the bookings in order to reduce operational risk
  • Coordinate with FO and support functions to follow up and push for resolution of production issues 
  • Push for automation, simplification and convergence of the processes\
  • Analyze impacts of new products

Handle Client requests and assist relevant teams in performing the operational leg of all client related tasks

Help in producing relevant reporting on the products client had subscribed with SG

Take in charge any escalation request (information request, claims, complaint etc.) from our clients

Write down / update procedures linked to sensitive processes and controls

React in a timely manner to incidents and develop action plan for the long term

Involve in process improvement / automation

Contribute to regular error rate governance on Asia scope. Analyze error rate concentration and help identifying root-cause and remediation action plan.

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Good knowledge of capital market exotic products with cross asset underlying (Equity, Commodity, FX, Rates)
  • Fluent in English is essential, with other language skills would be a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interface with various internal partners (Traders, Engineers, Sales, other Middle Offices,
  • Product Control teams, Back Offices, IT) and in different countries in Asia, Europe, America regions
  • Ability to adapt to a fast changing environment
  • Knowledge of Python or VBA programming is an advantage
  • Hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science or similar discipline is preferred
  • Support change by proactively contributing to the change process and adapting to new constraints
  • Willingness to embody the Group's values by honouring its commitments, fostering a climate of trust and knowing how to work with colleagues from different environments and cultures

This is a fixed term 12 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. Department Description

Within Société Générale Group, you will join GBSU (Global Business Service Unit) in Hong-Kong, as middle officer on Investment scope. The role is transversal across asset classes and our mission is to ensure all new trades and life cycle events are correctly reflected in the relevant information systems / database:

  • For Front Office (FO) to have a clear and accurate view of their positions and risks,
  • For Operations to ensure smooth settlement for all trades,
  • For Finance to compute economic and accounting PnL in due time.
  • As the first link in the Operations chain, Trade Support is also the first level of control for the business.
