TRAINEE: Cash & Equity Settlement Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Settlement - Ensure trades are instructed and settled in a timely, accurate and compliant manner for Hong Kong and Stock Connect market.
  • Matching - Pre-matching processing and proactively communicate the trade status to the stakeholders.
  • Control - Cash and stock reconciliation break investigation, analyze the root cause and resolve the breaks.
  • Funding - Perform cash flow projection on the funding requirement. Arrange funding with Treasury Desk and be mindful on Treasury cutoff.
  • Payment - Process internal / external payment via internal Payment Tool.
  • Project - Participate in projects on new business or system changes.

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Hold a relevant Bachelors or Masters degree.
  • Some operation experience in financial institution is preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter, eager to learn and willing to work on a variety of assignments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the capacity to keep track of a large and varied workload.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to work in a team environment on collective success.
  • Think out of the box; propose new ideas and solutions on identified problems or existing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Cantonese.

Department Description

GBSU (Global Business Support Unit) provides independent operational support to trading and sales. The department works with a number of departments across the firm (including Risk Management, DFIN, IT, Legal and Compliance) in the course of fulfilling their roles and responsibilities and to ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
