What You'll Do

  • Work with stakeholders to understand problems, ask the right questions, and agree what success looks like
  • Gather and analyse information (data, documents, process steps, feedback) to spot patterns, risks, and opportunities
  • Turn findings into clear options and recommendations that support decision-making
  • Create concise materials (e.g., slides, summaries, simple process maps, trackers) to communicate progress and next steps
  • Support delivery by coordinating actions, tracking risks and milestones, and helping remove blockers
  • Test and refine improvements with teams, learning what works in practice and helping embed change

Where You'll Work

You'll have the opportunity to join and contribute to one of our teams below:

  • Finance – plays a vital role in ensuring that HSBC manages costs and deploys capital in the most effective way. The team provides financial insight, accuracy, and control, using analytical skills to support our Global Businesses and influence and challenge business decisions.
  • Global Strategy – the CEO Office works with senior management to set the strategic direction of the bank at a Group, business, and regional level, driving collaboration, revenue generation and improving the ways of working.
  • Global Risk & Compliance – Risk oversees a comprehensive risk management framework that is applied throughout the Group, while Compliance protects our customers, the organisation, and the integrity of the financial markets in which we operate.
  • People – implements HSBC's people strategy, including talent management, succession planning, and employee mobility, while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing, and engagement.
  • Internal Audit – provides an independent, objective assessment of HSBC's risk management, control, and governance processes, helping the Board and Group Operating Committee to protect the assets, reputation, and long-term financial sustainability of HSBC.
  • Group Chief Operating Office – drives simplification and transformation, and provides an exceptional customer-centric experience across all areas of banking (e.g. cards and loan processing, account services, ATM operations, credit risks evaluation, mortgage application review, and payments processing).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Available to work full-time from July 2026 onwards
  • Obtained, or expected to achieve, a GPA of at least 4.0/5.0 or 3.2/4.0 (as appears on your official university transcript or degree certificate), or an overseas equivalent to this
  • Recent graduates with less than 2 years of full-time job experience or who will have graduated by July 2026
  • Fluent in English
