The Programme

For decades, Towngas has partnered with local universities and vocational institutes to run the Co-operative Education Programme and provide half/one year placement opportunities for students to gain hands on work experience within their field of study prior to graduation, thereby offering a platform for students to plan their career.

Taking part in the Programme not only gives students an actual work environment to apply their relevant skills and knowledge, but also exposes them to day-to-day operation of their desired role and job challenges that they may encounter in the future.

This year, we continue to welcome interested students to join the half / one-year Co-op Programme.  

Students are required to complete a work project assigned by their supervisors as part of the Programme.

The Co-op Programme covers a broad spectrum of business operations and offers a wide range of options for students to choose from:

The programme period is 1 September 2023 – 31 August 2024.

Engineering - CMSD-1/Co-op/2023 

The Role:

  • Develop a warehouse management system for C&I maintenance services section.
  • Conduct time and method study of C&I maintenance operations.
  • Support C&I mobility system enhancement.
  • Review the contractor management system of C&I maintenance services section and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare engineering simulation models using Solidworks, Ansys, or other software.
  • Support departmental activities, such as team building events, etc.
  • Involve in SQS preparation work & reports.
  • Involve in work-flow analysis and streamlining project.
  • Perform business performance analysis.
  • Review the manpower arrangement of frontline staff.
  • Assist in data analysis, reports preparation and PPT creation.
  • Conduct UAT for system enhancement. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Undergraduate with a major in Industrial and Systems Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Interested in operations research.
  • Embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Completed the Mandatory Basic Safety Training Courses - Construction Work (optional).
  • Willing to visit construction sites occasionally to understand site work conditions (under the supervision of Engineers).
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD design and drawing (e.g.Solidworks).
  • Creative, well-organized with good analytical skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Innovative, positive and willing to learn.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Power Point).
  • Proactive and patient.
  • Self-motivated and result driven.
