The Programme

For decades, Towngas has partnered with local universities and vocational institutes to run the Co-operative Education Programme and provide half/one year placement opportunities for students to gain hands on work experience within their field of study prior to graduation, thereby offering a platform for students to plan their career.

Taking part in the Programme not only gives students an actual work environment to apply their relevant skills and knowledge, but also exposes them to day-to-day operation of their desired role and job challenges that they may encounter in the future.

This year, we continue to welcome interested students to join the half / one-year Co-op Programme.  

Students are required to complete a work project assigned by their supervisors as part of the Programme.

The Co-op Programme covers a broad spectrum of business operations and offers a wide range of options for students to choose from: 

• Business Administration/Management.
• Business Analytics.
• Energy.
• Engineering.
• Finance/Accounting/Economics.
• Information Technology/Computer Science.
• Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
• Marketing.
• Media/Communication/Journalism/Translation.
• Science.
• Sustainability.

The programme period is 1 September 2023 – 31 August 2024.

Information Technology - CITD-1/Co-op/2023  

The Role:

• Understand departments business and operation processes and discover opportunities to digitize, improve, automate them using primarily Microsoft O365 tools / functionalities.
• Assist in digitization and automation project.
• Involve in work-flow analysis and streamlining project. 

Required Skills and Abilities

• Undergraduate with a major in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
• Willing to learn new digitization tools.
• Comfortable working in / with Microsoft O365 tools (esp. Power Suite, SharePoint, Teams related).
• Good at logical thinking.
• Be creative and thinking out of the box.
• Creative, well-organized with good analytical skills.
• Innovative, positive and willing to learn.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Power Point).
• Proactive and patient.
• Self-motivated and result driven.
