The Programme

The intern will support financial risk management activities, including Group Risk Identification exercise, data analytics initiatives including the design and implementation of a credit risk management dashboard, ad-hoc independent financial risk management analysis for business initiatives and produce risk review recommendations, and preparation of financial risk management information. 

What You Will Do

  • Support the Group Risk Identification exercise to identify internal and external risk factors to the Company. Conduct market research of the insurance industry to support the analysis. Work closely with the financial risk team members and liaise with other departments to collect the required internal data. Create a report to document the findings.
  • Support data analytics initiatives, including the design and implementation of a credit risk management dashboard, accompanied with tools (including Microsoft Power BI) to enable visualization and analysis of risk data and metrics, assessment against risk limits and analysis of risk trend. Create / maintain proper documentation for internal risk analytics collection / processes and ensure data and model governance processes are followed.
  • Support and perform ad-hoc independent financial risk management analysis for business initiatives and produce risk review recommendations. Maintain proper documentation of the findings and recommendations.
  • Support the preparation of financial risk management information for reporting to senior management and various committees. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • University students in business analytics, statistics, risk management or any other related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-minded, can-do attitude, highly proactive, self-motivated with a drive to deliver.
  • Fluency in Cantonese and English essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
