Our Global Markets team services financial institutions, corporates, governments, asset managers and hedge funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in equity and fixed income securities, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products.

About the Program: 
 
Being part of our Graduate Internship program, you will gain first-hand experience and insights to a career in markets.   
 
You will have the opportunity to feel our culture, acquire valuable on-the-job training and expand your network.   
 
This program is a key pipeline for our Graduate Analyst Program in Asia.   
 
The Graduate Internship will start around February/March 2024 and run for twelve weeks in our Hong Kong office. You will be provided with a brief orientation, followed by on-going training on the desk.  
 
You will join one of the teams in Global Markets, ranging from Sales, Structuring, Trading, and Research, in order to give you a meaningful experience and help you develop by providing you with diverse responsibilities throughout the program. 
 
Sales: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, including pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies and other corporate clients. 
 
Trading: Assisting the trading desk in buying and selling securities on behalf of clients or the firm; market making and capital commitment. 
 
Structuring: Designing and developing innovative products and strategies for Nomura's clients, in partnership with the trading function, to create a risk management strategy for structured transactions and, together with sales, to create a marketing strategy for our products. 
 
Research: Collecting, analyzing and assessing industry and company information to assist the research analysts in providing market insight and investment ideas for institutional investors and internal clients.

Candidates applying for this program must be available to commit full time for the entire duration of the Graduate Internship (February/March to May 2024) and commence for Graduate Analyst Program in early July 2024.  
 
Fluency in written and spoken English is required, while additional Asian language skills will be a value-add.
