Private Capital Investment Intern - June 2024 intake

The Programme

Jebsen Capital is the Jebsen Group’s growth equity investment team and in-house asset manager. To support our deal team, we are looking for a motivated intern based in our Hong Kong headquarters.  
 
This is a unique position that combines strategic growth equity investment with in-house M&A. As an intern in our Private Capital team, you will be fully involved in a range of investment-related activities, from researching commercial information on target companies, to forming an investment thesis and preparing discussion materials.  
 
You will also be involved in a range of in-house M&A topics, ranging from conducting industry research, to supporting detailed commercial analysis and negotiation, to preparing discussion material for our business line colleagues.

What You Will Do

• Support the deal team in commercial due diligence, such as researching and analyzing information on target companies, relevant competitors, and industry developments. 
• Support valuation analysis in determining fair transaction prices, including trading comps analysis and transaction screening. 
• Support financial due diligence by reviewing, analyzing or developing financial models or commercial operating models. 
• Prepare detailed investment presentation decks and memorandums for meetings with senior investment professionals, business line colleagues, target management teams, and investment partners. 
• Assist with ongoing portfolio management activities, such as researching latest industry developments and monitoring current portfolio performance. 
• Gather information for ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g., KYC processes, document translation, internal reporting).

Required Skills and Abilities

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (with a minimum of 5 semesters completed) or graduate-level degree program, or a recent graduate in a business-related discipline. 
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. 
• Results-oriented, capable of delivering output under time pressure. 
• Ability to think independently and to prioritize workstreams as needed. 
• Collaborative team player and open to learn from others. 
• Familiarity with corporate finance principles and their application. 
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Capital IQ and Bloomberg is a plus. 
• Prior internship experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: 
  • Private Equity & Venture Capital. 
  • Corporate M&A. 
  • Strategy consulting. 
  • Investment banking. 
• Full professional fluency in English; additional fluency in Mandarin highly beneficial. 
• Available to join us for a 3–6-month full-time internship.
