Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) Advisory: :

Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) Advisory assists our clients – corporations, PE/VC, financial institutions, government bodies, high net worth individuals - in assessing investment opportunities and providing professional advisory services to support them in making effective and timely business and investment decisions throughout the whole M&A lifecycle, from formulating M&A strategies to transaction execution, from post-merger integration to realizing synergies. 

Our team, which sits within M&A Advisory, mainly focuses on the following engagements:  

  • Corporate Strategy – work with C-level executives to identify, structure and help solve their most critical strategic issues across the economic cycles, including Growth Strategy, Operating Strategy, Organizational Optimization, etc.
  • Government Consulting – Provide comprehensive industry planning and policy advisory services to government entities, aiding in effective city-wide industrial and policy planning. Collaborate closely with government stakeholders to define strategic industry sectors, analyze macro and market dynamics, and identify future development trends.
  • Commercial Due Diligence – define the market where the target company is in and analyze the dynamics, future development trends, and competition landscape. Take a close look at the operation of the target company and how it suits the client's requirement. This can enhance a client's understanding of the target, and aid in achieving a better disposal price.
  • Business Plans Development - assist clients in composing their business and corporate plans, which include their business goals and objectives, operations, strategies, action plans, financial impact, and projected financial results and cash flows as a result of the plan.
  • Feasibility Analysis – understand the clients' investment rationale and their resource advantages. Also gain understanding of the target market dynamics. Assist the client in designing future development strategy and also make financial forecasts to validate the feasibility of the potential investment.
  • Target Screening – develop selection criteria based on client's request and also the understanding of target market. Collect information through various channels to find out the most suitable M&A targets for the client. 

What You Will Do

  • Conduct industry research and research on specific business issues by leveraging different materials, i.e. annual report, prospectus, etc.
  • Understand the business, operation and revenue model of the target company, and analyze business and financial information.
  • Compile meeting minutes with companies' senior management to obtain understanding on the company‘s historical performance, brand positioning and development plan.
  • Conduct cold calls to collect basic information on the industry or on the company itself.
  • Draft questionnaire based on industry understanding and project requirement, participate in expert interviews.
  • Participate in and assist with the drafting of reports and/or other reporting materials to clients.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Undergraduate / Postgraduate with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, etc.
  • Other degree majors will also be considered etc.
  • Strong communication skills with high commitment to quality client service.
  • Fast learner, with flexibility and adaptability to work in different industries.
  • Good business sense and high sense of integrity.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-initiation, good team player, and willingness to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese, including both. technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills.
