Actuarial and Insurance Solutions:

You’ll provide actuarial services to insurers as well as employers, with actuarial modelling, liability valuation, financial forecasting, M&A, pricing, advanced analytics, pensions and capital management.

What You Will Do

Working with other staff and managers to efficiently deliver high quality projects.

There are opportunities to be staffed on a large variety of projects including but not limited to:

  • Product and market entry strategy.
  • Customer and distribution model revamp o Merger and acquisition.
  • International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 17 advisory and implementation.
  • Solvency reporting, asset-liability management (ALM) and capital optimization solutions.
  • Risk management strategy, governance, systems and business embedding.
  • Environmental, social & governance (ESG) and sustainability initiatives including climate risk stress testing, modelling and financial disclosures for insurers and other financial institutions.
  • Actuarial model development and review.
  • Advisory and implementation of insurers’ digitalization initiatives including data analytics and application of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) 

Actuarial & finance transformation including:

  • Target operating model (TOM) review and re-design.
  • Actuarial technology and application re-platform and modernization.
  • Review, automation, optimization and ‘Operate’ of actuarial & finance processes.
  • Reserve and Embedded Value calculation and review.
  • Actuarial audit on the financial statements of insurance companies or pension schemes of employers. 

Working with our professionals in different geographical locations across the Asia Pacific region including the mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia, Singapore and other Southeast Asian Countries.

  • Providing assistance with internal research, marketing and product development.
  • Collaborating with professionals in the Deloitte network. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • University Degree holder in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, risk management, quantitative finance and other relevant programmes.
  • Ability to learn, apply, and communicate technical concepts and ideas.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication in verbal and written English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team playing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS office Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, R, VBA) and data analytics techniques and tools would be advantageous.
  • Commitment to obtaining a professional qualification from an internationally recognized actuarial organization (e.g. Society of Actuaries) and good progress in actuarial examination would be advantageous.
