Corporate & Leveraged Finance Trainee (One Year Contract)

Summary 

Assist in the origination and execution of transactions in the Corporate & Leveraged Finance (CLF) & Leveraged & Telecom Finance Group (LTFG) transactions in APAC, under the supervision of the Head of Acquisition Finance and Advisory (AFA) of CLF Asia.  

The ideal candidate should complete their graduation requirements by June 2023 and is available to start the position in July 2023.  Trainee program is one year to begin with and possible for extension up to 2 years in total, subject to performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assistance of senior team members in the origination of new business for both Leveraged, TMT & Acquisition Finance and Rating & Capital Structure Advisory
• Support deal execution as a capacity of financial advisor, arranger, underwriter or other roles (agent, etc.) throughout the Asia-Pacific region
• Financial and credit analysis, research and modelling in the execution of mandates (arranging or advisory)
• Research, marketing and the preparation of proposals or presentations to prospective clients
• Drafting and follow-up of credit applications and annual reviews incl. rating, PI/EVA analysis, KYC etc. as required
• General assistance to the team in all commercial, execution, marketing and reporting / budgeting functions

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or relevant discipline with less than 12 months’ full-time experiences
• Ability to multi-task and work within a dynamic and evolving environment
• Excellent team player and ability to work under pressure in meeting deadlines.
• Good communication skills 
• Financial analysis skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent in written and spoken English, proficiency in Chinese would be a plus
