2024 APAC Long Internship -Jan-Jun- Transaction Banking - Finance

The Programme

We are seeking an energetic and responsible undergraduate to join our 6-month internship program.  
 
In this position, you will be exposed to the ins-and-outs of the transaction banking (TB) business.  
 
In addition to the on-the-job experience, the intern will have the opportunity to meet and interact with managers and executives of different departments of the Bank, enriching his/ her personal network and understanding of how a bank functions.

What You Will Do

• Support and work under the supervision of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Marketers/Sales for the below responsibilities. 
• Preparing pitchbooks and marketing material in the client acquisition process; 
• Coordinating with legal, compliance, middle office and back office to ensure smooth implementation of transactions. 
• Preparing Global Trade Solutions Transaction Support Memos, participating in credit committees in conjunction with the credit approval process, liaising with Trade Insurance Syndication team when required. 
• Understanding client's requirements and offering structuring support on SCM solutions (receivables purchase, supplier financing programs, inventory financing programs). 
• Proposing acceptable program structures so that risk is adequately mitigated and where relevant, organizing insurance coverage or risk mitigation structures to obtain credit committee approvals. 
• Contributing actively to due diligence missions in frame of mandated transactions. 
• Assisting with identifying profitable supply chain solutions in close relation with other SCM marketers.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills in person and by phone, excellent presentation skills. 
• Logical and analytical skills to drive out solutions. 
• Strong organizational skills. 
• Ability to deliver within tight timeframes and under pressure. 
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, across jurisdictions. 
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point with a familiarity with dashboards and pivot tables. 
• Client focused approach. 
• Tertiary studies in Banking / Finance / Legal / Business (Degree in Business / Finance preferred). 
• Internships/short experience in Banking/Finance is a plus. 
  Proficient in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
