2024 APAC Graduate Programme – Securities Services, Client Lines - Hong Kong 

Our two-year graduate programme is designed to provide you with first class training and immediate responsibility, it gives you the support and development you need to start a successful career in financial services.

You can join us in one of several business areas and, depending on your qualifications and experience, you can apply to join us as either an analyst or an associate.  

For: Final year students or recent graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. 

Duration: 24 months. 
Start date: July 2024.

Induction

You will be provided with a comprehensive induction, where you will be immersed in group training and discover more about the BNP Paribas Group.

Training

From day one, you will start your business specific technical and financial training, alongside personal skills development aimed at equipping you with the knowledge you need to get you the best possible start in your career.

Working alongside our teams of industry-leading specialists, you will gain on-the-job training throughout your two-year programme taking you along a development path to build your expertise and broaden your base of skills. You will also have the chance to experience other parts of the business through cross-entity projects, which will help you understand how we approach complex work and give you the chance to develop a strong internal network. 

Mentor & Buddy

Throughout the programme, you will be mentored by experienced managers and team members, as well as pairing with a buddy from our early career cohorts who will make sure you are getting everything you need to grow. 

What You Will Do

Financial Intermediaries & Corporates (FI&C) Client line, acts as a central actor in the provision of Local Custody, Global Custody and Cash Management and Treasury solutions for the Securities Services client base with BNP Paribas.

Purpose of this position is to provide integral central support to the Client Lines FI&C team.

Responsibilities

FI&C activities in the region:

• Key support for regional Heads of FI&C Client Line and APAC Heads of Custody & Clearing Product.
• Monitoring and reporting of profitability to regional stakeholders.
• Analytical analysis and reporting of underlying client activity.
• Support to local product managers in pricing new and existing client activity.

Assist the development of the product franchise:

• Help the regional heads in delivering key priorities.
• Generate ideas to improve our product offer.
• Assist in ensuring that regional product needs and regulatory needs are well taken into account in the product development plan.
• Support in maintaining product intelligence (competition features, pricing policy, regulation).
• Act as a support to the SME’s for custody product.

Support of the sale of custody products:

• Assist the Regional head of custody product to deliver on agreed strategy.
• Assist the custody product manager in ensuring that the sales team have a fair command of the products and services.
• Assist Local product managers in terms of RFP and RFI with respect to custody products. 

Required Skills and Abilities

To be considered for the placement, you will:

• Apply as a recent graduate, final year undergraduate, or master’s student in any discipline.
• Possess GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0 or above (or equivalent) in any discipline.
• Be available to work full time from Q1 2022 onwards.
• Have to be fluent in spoken and written English (additional languages are an advantage)
• Demonstrate methodical, logical, solution-driven thinking, with commercial awareness and a keen interest in latest finance topics as well as market trends.  

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

• Ability to work cohesively and positively with colleagues and peers.
• Time management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Quick learning.
• Hands-on approach.
• Strong communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work transversally across locations as required.
• Fluent in English (written/spoken).
• Degree course in Economics, Business, Finance, or related topic.
• Knowledge of the Custody and Clearing business.
• Proven analytical skills.
• Competent strategic thinker with the ability to document and articulate solutions.
• Ability to foster and maintain strong interpersonal relationships both internally and externally
