Our 2019 Asian Graduate Market Roundup
We’re coming to the end of another massive year in graduate recruitment, so we’ve put together this post to reflect on our achievements and big changes! We launched a new career event, saw growth in a crowd favourite, and shared some big news for the GradConnection team and the way we can better service employers and graduates.

We launched Hong Kong’s first unified local university student career fair
When you talk, we listen.
Possibly our proudest moment this year was the launch of our inaugural Hong Kong university student career fair in September. With your feedback, we saw an opportunity to create one unified career fair for all Hong Kong-based employers to showcase their brand and entry pathway programs to local university students.
Around 1,000 students registered for the fair and more than 20 renowned employers from various industries participated, contributing to the event’s huge success.
We celebrated our third Returnee Summit
Held over three days in August, our Returnee Summit connects employers in Hong Kong with renowned overseas universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, and their returnee students.
It was a value-packed schedule that started with a networking and panel event co-hosted with Bloomberg, our official 2019 Returnee Summit employer partner. Over 80 employers attended to participate in constructive discussions and assessments of the graduate recruitment environment in Hong Kong.
We were acquired by Seek
Earlier in the year, GradConnection was acquired by SEEK – Australia’s number one employment marketplace. With SEEK’s investment, we can tap into their advanced technological capabilities to help us grow our digital offering to graduate employers, so you can better connect with students and universities. We’re still the same team here though, business as usual!
We increased our commitment to be your one stop student and graduate employment shop
We created GradConnection because we saw how difficult it was for university students and graduates to connect with employers and their opportunities. It’s our mission to continue evolving and improving our services and platform to bridge this gap between employers, universities and talented grads.
2019 has been a huge year for us in Hong Kong, as we’ve expanded our services to help employers with both offline (face-to-face) and online promotion, with the return of our Returnee Summit and the introduction of our Local University Student Career Fair.
We’re grateful for the support of the employers and universities who work with us to share their insights and participate in our events that help improve graduate employability here.
Thank you. We look forward to working with you again in 2020!
