The Graduate Talent Programme is specially designed to provide you with full knowledge in corporate banking services. Financial Institutions Division manages and coordinates OCBC’s relationship with banks and non-bank financial institutions, which includes asset managers and funds, brokers as well as insurance companies.
Our relationship managers work closely with our product partners, other business groups and support functions within the region in facing off our financial institutions clients, with aim to deliver integrated and customized banking solutions under OCBC platforms, e.g. funding and structured finance, capital markets, treasury solutions, cash management, trade finance and any other form of strategic partnerships.

As a core part in the second line of defense, Compliance Division assists the banking group to ensure the compliance with the regulatory requirements applicable to its banking or other regulated activities. In general, it is responsible to identify, assess and monitor the compliance risk; provide professional advice for the senior managements and the staffs on laws, rules, and standards with which the Bank Group is required to comply; establish the Bank Group’s compliance policies and guidelines and provide compliance-related training to the staffs.
The Graduate Talent (GT) Programme under the Compliance stream is specially designed to train a well-rounded regulatory compliance professional and build a solid foundation for your banking career. Throughout the GT programme, you will learn the basic skill and knowledge by hands-on training and attaching to different teams within Compliance Division, gain exposure in various units, including Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Team, Wealth Management Compliance Team and General Compliance Team.
Information Technology Division (ITD) provides application and technology services to the OCBC Wing Hang Bank (HK & Macau) and its subsidiaries. The 2019 OCBC Wing Hang Bank Graduate Talent Programme has provided us with the opportunity to understand the bank’s business operations holistically and equipped us with the essential knowledge and skillsets for our careers.
We went on several rotations relevant to our respective designations, engaged in bank-wide projects and initiatives, and had the chance to collaborate with local and regional banking professionals. Having chosen Wholesale Banking as my designation, I have also gained in-depth knowledge on various banking products, built up client relationship management skills, and expanded my professional network. As Graduate Talents, we were being paired up with seasoned bankers who acted as our mentors and coaches, patiently guided us along the journey and provided us with constructive feedback to go further.
Looking back, being fresh out of university, joining the 2019 OCBC Wing Hang Bank Graduate Talent Programme was one of the best ways to kickstart my banking career.
2019 Graduate Talent, Retail Banking Division
If I were to pick one word to summarize the 2-year Graduate Talent experience in OCBC Wing Hang, nothing would fit better than ‘rewarding’. As a Graduate Talent of the Bank, in addition to understanding how the Bank functions business-as-usual, I have been offered huge exposure and many opportunities to join, participate, or even steer projects within our own division, across the Bank, or outside the Bank. These projects, big or small, are platforms to show what I have learnt in my job rotations, and at the same time, are great opportunities for me to learn from my seniors. The programme also stretched me to jump out of my comfort zone in working with people of other teams and divisions, and allowed me to understand more about other divisions and build knowledge in diverse banking, financial and business domains.
The 2-year programme was rewarding and I am surprised by how much I have transformed. I am a strong believer of ‘Hard work Pays Off’ – the more endeavor and dedication you have, the more surprises and rewards are waiting for you ahead!

The Graduate Talent Programme with OCBC Wing Hang Credit (OWHC) had offered me a wide range of exposures and precious opportunities to enrich my banking knowledge and experience. In particular, my job rotations in business support departments e.g. Compliance, Credit Risk, Information System, Marketing, Branch Operation, and frontline branches of OWHC, had equipped me with hands-on experiences and a comprehensive understanding of how the bank runs within a condensed period of time.
The Bank’s Learning & Development department had also arranged a lot of trainings e.g. project management professional training to strengthen my professional knowledge and understanding of the latest trend of the Banking industry.
The most memorable experience for me in the Programme was the participation in the OCBC Graduate Talent Regional Week! I had the chance to work along and exchange ideas with Graduate Talents from other regions of the OCBC Group. It was very inspiring to interact with people of diverse culture, background and beliefs, and to experience how diversity helps generating innovative ideas that I would have never thought of!

Joining the bank as a Graduate Talent in 2017 was a great start for my career. The 2 years programme provided us with opportunities to have in-dept knowledge in different business functions and expand our network through cross divisional and regional projects.
As a graduate talent, we are being given various opportunities to perform and to engage in bank-wide initiatives. I had the chance to take up the role of MC in business occasions and CEO Townhall, which were some precious experiences in my career. The programme did not only focus on equipping us with the business knowledge, but also our personal growth.
